01The challenge

Relying on a single rail per country was an operational risk.

Origin operates as a payment processor in Brazil and needs to move money to Mexico and Colombia with consistent settlement times. Before Coloca, they integrated three different providers — one per country — each with its own onboarding, its own API and its own operating windows.

When a rail went into maintenance, payments piled up in the queue until it came back. When an integration needed a change, they multiplied the work by three. When something broke, the operations team chased support in three different places.
